Why is my GPU suddenly running so hot?

I have an XFX Nvidia 8600 GTS that I bought overclocked at 730. A few months ago I had been playing TF2 with no problems. I didn't touch my comp for over 4 months and noticed this would happen. The game would randomly crash and sometimes my screen would become pixelated until I made a hard reboot. I ran some temp. tests and it is now idling at 73C and runs at 81-83C while playing TF2. I haven't made any graphical change to the game, changed comp cases, haven't moved my pc's location, and never reapplied thermal compound I was wondering if anyone has any idea what could be wrong? Would reapplying thermal paste cool my gpu? Do I need a new GPU?

How to focus a meade 70az-a telescope?

The same as with any refractor telescope. Put the diagonal (L-shaped piece) in the focuser, and then put the 25mm eyepiece in the diagonal. Point at a distant object (practise in daylight) and turn the focusing wheel until the image becomes sharp. The object you're looking at must be at least a quarter mile away. Focusing is very critical, so turn the wheel slowly.

I would not buy a computer controlled telescope like that. If you are serious about astronomy, you should learn how to find objects in the sky on your own, and operate a clock drive. These computer scopes are not that accurate anyway. The mechanism adds a lot to the cost, but nothing to the optics. If you have the space you should be looking at a 10 or 12" Dobsonian, a scope like that will show you much more than these 6" telescopes will. Also it depends what you are looking at, if you are mainly looking at planets, you want a longer focal length like f/11. If you are doing mainly deep sky observing, they f/5 or f/6 would be better. The more aperture you can afford and use, the better your results will be. Don't forget how important eyepieces are too. a good eyepiece is just as important as the telescope itself.

Help me stop Rooted Android Boot Loop?

I have the Motorola Droid. It is rooted. It is currently in an endless pattern of freezing, shutting down, and rebooting. The "holding down 'x' " technique does not work. Random blue screens of death with Nvidia drivers?

I used Driver Max 5 to update my Nvidia GT Geforce 240M drivers but it messed everything up after rebooting (it was as if it had uninstalled the graphical drivers, computer had low resolution, etc) and had to resort to install the drivers using Nvidia's website. It went back to normal, but then blue screens of death started appearing randomly and turning off the computer. I can access windows normally but the screens still appear. I tried uninstalling everything related to Nvidia drivers and reinstalling, but no luck. This was without using safe mode though. Do I have to resort to use safe mode and uninstalling and then installing through there?

Difference between TDY and PCS?

How do you describe Orion Nebula when you see it in your telescope?

Hi, I just got a Meade 2130 last week. It's a 127mm aperture (5" equivalent i suppose), I also got a zhumell kit with many eyepieces and filters. I am aware that through the telescope I am not going to see the nebula like in the pictures. However, after a quick visit to the moon I went for Orion. Found orion's belt, went down to the three sword stars, found the one in the middle (supposedly orion nebula). I kept increasing magnification over and over, even with a barlow 2x. ALL I CAN SEE IS JUST A STAR! How's that possible if people claim to see it with binoculars? http://www.lightandmatter.com/binosky/m42.html . I know my telescope isn't that great (but it's at least better than a binocular), but at least a little something more than just a star I was hoping to see. Maybe I am doing something wrong? How do you see orion's nebula through your telescope? Just a star as well? I hope not or that will be a big let down. =/

Explore.exe memory usage keeps increasing over time?

just like the title states, when i first boot up my computer explorer.exe stars out at 15,000 K, as time goes it increases, one thing that bothers me is when i open a folder or windows explorer, memory usage increases, which makes sense, but after i close it memory usage does not decrease, it remains the same, so the more folders i open over time the more memory is used, which is really scaring me, my computer is not slow but i would like to know if this is normal, before i rebooted my explorer.exe was at lik 65,000!!! now it is at 40,000 but i am not sure how long it will stay that low, can someone offer me a solution to this problem, or this normal? i have a toshiba setellite L505D and 3GB of RAM. my computer already as a problem, EXTREMELY SLOW booting time, when i restart or even log off i get s black screen for like 5 minutes before being taken to the log in screen, can this be related to the explorer.exe issue?

Why won't computer recognize drives other than c:?

I have an mp3 player and a flash drive on 2 usb ports. Even if the drives are listed in windows explorer, when I click on them nothing happens. Drives don't open. Folders don't come up. When I try to save file, get error message that drive is invalid. I have to reboot (sometimes several times) to get access to them. Any ideas why?

I fiddled with partitions and now i cant run my netbook.?

okay so im trying to install windows xp from a usb because i have a netbook. i also wanted to allocate some more space for the C: drive because it was using 40gb of space and my D: had 100gb. so i deleted both of the partitions i saw. now when i create both partitions i try to go to the install thing in the menu and it says do you want to format? i put yes then after the windows xp professional set up screen it basically says i dont have enough space. and then it says setup was unable to locate such a drive with the required amount of free space. and when i hit enter it reboots my pc. what am i doing wrong? how do i create the partitions to where i can have more in my C drive or atleast getting my computer back to running again? am i suppose to make a extended? i just want my c drive and d drives back. i also tried making the drive active. please help i just want my netbook to run again.

Blackberry Bold help!!?

After removing and replacing the battery for my Blackberry Bold to reboot, the red LED light goes on for a few seconds and the clock loading screen proceeds to show for about 7 seconds. After this, it goes black when the rebooting screen should show. For a split second, I can vaguely see the rebooting screen and after a minute or two when it would normally be done rebooting, the red LED light flashes as if I have a message. Windows 7 startup repair deleting my game?

I just installed rise and fall civillizations at war, which in order to install I had to copy files onto the harddrive from my disks. Right after it installed fine it said it needed to install additional libraries (which is normal for this game) along with a needed reboot (also normal) after the reboot windows startup repair pops up, takes forever, and deletes my game. How can I fix this? (And I can't get around the repair, cancelling early makes u restart and cancelling aftr a couple minutes cause it to say it cannot be cancelled)

Virus takes over admin?

Ok, so I accidently downloaded a stupid hack file. When I ran it, the computer shut down and rebooted and when it came back on, it took over administration controls. This is the only user on the account and it IS the administrator. So, internet is running fine(with google chrome) and everything else works. The things that i can't get access to is changing anything in the hard drive. This also includes not having access to the command prompt, task manager, control panel, and system restore. These things do not work, even on safe mode. I have ran security scans on both mcafee and vipre. I would download norton trial, since its the best antivirus out there, but its really too much of a hassle. Is there anyway i can search up the virus and delete it? I have windows seven, and no, i do not have the windows cd, so don't even mention redownloading windows. Please help! Thank you!

Jailbreaking problems with my 2 gen?

I have an iPod touch 2 gen. It is running on 4.2.1 and I intended on jailbreaking it. I downloaded gp rc6 and followed all the steps and making sure I did nothing wrong. At the point of jailbreaking, my iPod white screened, but never started filling my screen with code. It stays white screened and then it says jailbreak failed so I unplug and hard reboot. I have also tried this with gp rc5_b2 and same problem occurs. Any suggestions on how to overcome this?

BSoD when I use an HDMI cord from my PC to my 64"in. HD TV?

My hp laptop won't work. ?

Well I have a HP laptop and it won't turn on. I tired to reboot by turning it off taking the battery out and unplugging it multiple times. It still hasn't worked. I know that it's somewhat alive because the cap lock key and the scroll/number lock key are blinking. It hasn't been working since June 22. I would like to know the cheapest, easiest way possible. Windows 7 Reboots at "Starting Windows" Screen?

I just got a computer from my friend so I decided to move my harddrive and video card from the old computer to the new, not much of a problem. However when i booted the computer the computer would get to the "Starting Windows" screen and then it would just restart, as if I turned the computer off and turned it back on. I ended up formatting my harddrive and reinstalled Windows 7 and then I put my files back on with an external harddrive but I was just wondering if there was anyway other than that in order to solve that problem. [By the way, I have already tried to do the system repair using the Windows 7 disk but when I tried it the program said that it either "could not automatically repair startup" or that it "couldn't detect a problem". Im saying this in order to help pinpoint the problem.] Thanks you for any suggestions or solutions in advance on this problem.

Why does this one star look like it's blinking colors?

I was just on my telescope (Meade) when I saw a star, above the big dipper (the big dipper is upside down right now, Northeast Pennsylvannia at nine thirty four PM, which makes it lower on the horizon). I need help with Real Player and Real Trimmer?

I use Real Player (the free download) to create videos. Normally Real Trimmer lets you cut and save small sections, but now it won't. When I try to save a section it asks you to name it, you press okay and then it shuts down Real Player completely. I've uninstalled/reinstalled, rebooted, used different source videos and made different cuts - but nothing changes. Happens on my laptop and on a PC. You have a broken CD drive. The fact you you cannot see anything broken is meaningless. CDs are optical drives and work by focusing a movable Laser through a lens for reading and writing. It doesn't take much to cause the lens either not to move, crack, or have the Laser itself not work. My feeling is that the lens is stuck and will not move back and forth hence the black screen as it cannot read the beginning of a CD but is still reading something.

My ipod touch is frozen on the start up apple logo. help?

At one point i tried to turn it on and it just froze at the start up apple logo. I've turned it off and on several times and it continues to stay at the apple logo. I've plugged it into the computer and let it set for several hours and the computer will not detect it (this was a MacBook Pro if that makes any difference). I have heard that if you simultaneously hold down the home and the power button at the same time and wait for the ipod to turn off and then keep holding it in until the apple logo comes up again and then let it sit for 5-15 minutes then it would eventually reboot itself but i have tried this and it still does not work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it to work or for my laptop to detect it?

I jailbroke my iPod touch 3G 8gb 4.2.1 with greenpoison and I was downloading stuff when it just crashed, when I downloaded nocyrefresh Cydia immediately started to crash upon startup so I tried to rejailbreak my iPod and it still didnt work, so I went on the Internet and researched it so I download iphonebrowser on the computer and manually deleted all of my uploaded sources like it said and when I went to reboot it it kept on doing the spinny thing so I held the lock and home button for 30 sec. It restarted then said connect to iTunes so I did and I had to restore my iPod, I was mad, but I still jailbroke it again with greenpoison, but when I installed Cydia again from loader and rebooted my iPod it was there the i loaded it and it said something like loading or installing or somethn like that, and a spinny thing then it went to my lockscreen so i tried again and it still does it, what do I do??? Little Big Planet 2 Loading Problem?

Okay, my little sister is a fan of the lbp series, so she was playing it earlier today (as always) and she wanted to play LBP1 for a little bit. After she played, she let it rest. (Our PS3 has an overheating problem, you can only use it for 2 hours and let it rest for 30 mins or else it will shut down with a "beep beep beep!") Later she came back to play LBP2, she put in the disk correctly, and it started up, but the loading at the beginning took about 8 minutes. It never takes that long, it takes only about 15 seconds. After the loading finished, she was sent to the menu (or the pod.) And when she selected a level, it started to load for a long time like the beginning loading screen. It wouldn't load correctly. She told me so I thought that it was the disc that caused the problem. I was a little white mark on the edge of the disc. I wiped it off, and the disc was fine, along with the few tiny scratches. So we tried it again, still didn't work! I wanted to see if it was a problem with the PS3, so I played a few other games, they worked perfectly fine. (Including LBP1) I went back to LBP2 and was stuck on the stupid 8 min loading screen so I quit the game from the menu that pops up when you hold down your PS button, and the PS3 shut down with the Beep beep beep! And then it rebooted back to the user selection. It goes beep x3 whenever I try to quit the game. Have I done anything wrong, or is it just a simple overheating problem? (My sister also says that it sometimes freezes while into 1:45 into the game.) Thanks in Advance! :)

me and my friend best buds for more then 2 years talked every night texted, talked on xbox hung out once a week inless each other were busy. We are both 17 now and he got a girlfriend. First of all let me tell you something creating backup files and restoring it on other computer will not work because windows 7 will backup all your user data file and administrator files which is from your computer source ie your computer info etc.if you want to backup everything you have to do it manually one by one.

Is it possible to mount a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 DSLR to a Meade LS 8 Telescope?

I think the problem you will find is locating a T-RING to fit your camera. Once you remove the lens, you need to put a T-Ring in place of the lens and then put one end of a T-Adpater into the T-Ring and mount the other end of the T-Adapter to the telescope. I did some preliminary searching, but did not see a T-Ring that will fit the type of mount for your camera. There does seem to be an adapter that MAY allow you to use a T-Ring that is comaptibe for another type of mount, but the mount it has seems to be unique. You definitely need to check with the manufacturer to see if there is an adapter for you camera that will accommodate a standard Nikon, Canon, etc. mount.

If it only happens when you game it's probably your graphics card. If you keep your video drivers up to date you may need to roll the driver back to an earlier version, also make sure the games that you're playing don't have any patches that you may need. If these two things don't work then try replacing the graphics card.

I've found beginners have a really hard time seeing galaxies, so I'd skip most of those, except for a few of the brightest like M31 and M81/82. Open star clusters and globular star clusters are best, along with double stars. The two bright planetary nebulae, M27 and M57, and both pretty good targets. I often show M11 and M13 at this time of year. When Sagittarius gets higher, it's chock full of bright nebulae and clusters. My personal favourite is the Swan or Omega Nebula.

i found a couple websites that give some fine information, but to bring it down to size. I want some more resources on what I should buy. I'm looking for something around 1,500 USD with the maximum aperture I can get. I'm looking for a one time first buy telescope. In other words... i will be studying astronomy, and making this a purchase that will last through many years of observation. Am I an amateur? Yes...Will i want a simple design? No... I need more input. so far i have taken interest in the meade lx200, but i dont need this GoTo technology. I would rather skip that for more aperture at the same price.

BLACKBERRY BOLD black screen, still on?!?

After taking the battery out of my Blackberry Bold, the red LED light goes on for a few seconds and the screen shows the loading clock for about 10 seconds then turns black. About 3 seconds later i can lightly see the rebooting screen but it turns black again. I know the phone is on because when i wait, i can see the red LED light blinking because of messages. Could this possibly be a loose connection with the LED screen? If so, how can I fix this?

How do I mount a Sony DSC-P30 digital camera to Meade ETX T Adaptor. The camera has a threaded connector mount to additional lens, marco, etc, such as a GroBartiG 0.45x wide angle, but it does not fit the T Adaptor (which has larger dia tube). What adaptor is available to connect the 2 together? I know a T mount is to attach to an SLR body, but I want to attach my good but hardly used P30 camera to my scope. Thanks.

Obtained lost filed after rebooting.?

Remove the battery and the back, and put the phone on the dash of your car with the windows up for the day. It will dry up the water that was in it.

Is the meade ds-2114at a decent telescope?

I agree with Geoff. I cannot recommend this scope, which substitutes all sorts of gadgets for its lack of basic quality and common sense telescope design. It has a shaky mount, terrible optics (tough to do on such a small scope, but they managed it here), and a less-than-stellar reputation. I would keep looking, perhaps for a Dobsonian configuration with more aperture and less electronics. That way, you can actually see something once you are aimed at it.

Meade LS Telescope Alignment Issue?

I have a new Meade Light Switch telescope. Telescope has automatic alignment feature which I'm having a problem with. During one of the initial steps in the alignment procedure, the telescope locates north. After that it swings around to the south and starts searching for specific stars to complete the alignment process. Unfortunately my telescope seems to be misidentifying where north is and when it swings around to look for a star if seems to miss the stars location by the same amount by which it's misjudged north, roughly 20 degrees. So far my emails to the manufacturer have not resolved the issue...

my tonsils have been swollen since early march. I was diagnosed with strep throat and given antibiotics and it cleared up within a few days. A couple days after that my tonsils switched from decreasing in size to once again swelling. WHY wont my hair grow?

Okay so about 2 years ago I used to have loong long dark very healthy hair until one summer I decided I wanted to be blonde. So I made the mistake of doing it myself multiple times and I completely ruined my hair & had to cut it ALL off. My hair went from just past my boobs to above my shoulders. I then died my hair back dark so that it could start to grow back and be healthy again and I promised myself that I would never go back blonde (which after that experience, I NEVER will again) so it has now been 2 years and my hair is about 1cm longer than it was 2 years ago.. and I dont understand why it wont GROW!!!! well..it obvioulsy does grow because my roots appear very quickly but my ends just break off everytime my hair starts to grow so therefor it doesn't grow in length AT ALL :( My roots are extremely healthy, and once you get to the tips they dont seem very bad anymore but clearly they are still broken since they just break everytime. I have changed alot in my life, I work out regularly, I take multi-vtiamins everyday, Bioton (good for hair) fish oil supplements, I never brush my hair with a brush, always use my fingers or a wide toothed comb. I used morrocan Oil which is an amazing hair mask which has helped me out dramatically.. very expensive shampoo & conditioner. I have cut down straightening my hair to 1-2 times a week rather than 7 days a week like I used to, I get it trimmed about every 7 weeks. and I try my best to take good care of my hair since I want it to grow so bad. I dont suit short hair AT ALL so I have spent alot of money on buying hair extensions so I dont have to wear my hair short all the time...somebody please help me. I dont know what to do...every hair dresser ive talked to shows me a different shampoo & conditioner and swears by them that they will work..and they do..but my hair is still not growing in length. should I just shave my head? im beginning to think thats the only solution. Scope for my rifle i need help deciding?

i have a Remington target tactical in .308 win i am trying to decide between the nightforce 5.5-22 and the 8-32 NXS but can not decide i will be using this gun for target/hunting purposes (groundhog) from anywhere between 100 and 500 yards .. but theres days i wanna go out with the guys and try banging steel targets from 1000 what scope is for me. My sound isn't working on my XP computer! Please help!?

So basically, I reformatted an old office computer we had, which is running XP Professional. I went to plug in a set of speakers, and nothing happened, no sound. There is not even a volume icon in the system tray because it is not reading a sound device. I checked the device manager, everything seems to be ok (drivers are ok, no alerts/exclamation points). So the device manager says everything is working properly. I even went into the BIOS and disabled, booted, rebooted, enabled the onboard audio, still nothing. The sound jack is part of the motherboard. When I go to control panel and then sound, it reads it as if there is no sound device. I know the speakers work because I used them in another computer, and I know the driver works because I used the same driver that it was already running prior to reformatting. I would also say it's a bad sound port, but this computer has jacks on the back and front, and neither work. Can anyone help? Thank you!!

ok i had a high fever and sore throat a two days ago and it went down today. Im constipated due to poor diet (might factor) and rarely drink water mainly soda. now i am fairly slim and neither of my parents have ST I's to my knowledge and i have had no sexual contact. i eat poorly and healthy at the same time, reasoning behind this is i find healthy food groups and eat the crappy version. you see grilled chicken i see microwaves. looking at what i drank and ate there was a siera mist which contained citric acid and coke which has phosphoric acid along with a lightly buttered bagel. what i hope is that the two acids combined in my stomach raising the acidity but the fiber from the bagel forced it to go down. therefor making my urine very potent because i actually saw it separate in the toilet. This pain has made me consider either eating more healthy or not drink as much soda. please tell me my hypothesis is plausible

My laptop is stupid, can you please help?

I have a sony vaio VPCF136FM. Lately, it has begun changing the basic functions of my keyboard. I have a numeric pad on the right side so number lock issue doesn't apply here. I'll give some examples: my 'L' key will lock my computer, my 'M' key will minimize the foremost window and the arrow keys munipulate the window accordingly e.g.: left will shift the window to the left, down will minimize the window, up will maximize the window, etc. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I tried calling the stupid vaio care people, but all the guy did was have me uninstall and reinstall the drivers after a half hour of BSing. Shortly after that the issue popped up again requiring another reboot. I've also done a ridiculous number of computer scans for viruses, registry issues, and any other possible problems that could pop up. I've even defragged and nothing. I haven't gone as far as actually changing anything because I don't really don't what I'm doing in that regard, but I could really use a hand. Any solutions?

My favorite analogy of the universe coming about is that it is as if a tornado went through a junk yard of plane parts, and when it ceased, a well functioning plane resulted. It also takes many factors for a planet to be able to sustain life, so our earth sustaining life is improbable also. Looking at my existence individually, I note that each ejaculation has more sperm then amount of people on the earth. So the fact that my ancestors sperm beat out billions, in that one ejaculation it took to conceive them alone, and I did the same, we can see that it is highly unlikely for me to be here right now. Considering all of these variables, let's say my existence is infinity to one, because it is sooooo close to zero. I know that I exist, you may not, but I do. I think therefor I am. My brother always says, "what is truth? I am truth." Let's say time and space are absolute and in fact infinite. Then every possibility will eventually get played out. Including me existing an infinite amount of times, with an infinite amount of changes, and an infinite amount of times with even no change to the life I am living now. The probability of me existing in this case is 100 percent. It is a mathematical guarantee that I exist, and will continue to exist and have existed. So looking at odds, it would make sense to side with the infinite time theory, that proves that I am existing right now as a result of guarantee and not a random chance, a mathematical error. Also painting a picture, I think, based on this, about how all of the suffering I have done, and will ever do, accumulates so that I suffer for an infinite amount of time. Because, I'll exist an infinite amount of times and suffer an infinite amount of times. I will also be happy an infinite amount of times, too. This theory is similar to eternal return but instead of my life having now change, I will have an infinite amount of times that do change, though eternal return still applies because I will live this same life an infinite amount of times. I told all of this to my friend who said that in thirty billion years all matter will decay, proving this theory wrong. I just assumed that eventually a new big bang will occur, everything will occur again. But could the big bang occur with decayed matter, could the universe form again given an infinite amount of time and space? The big bang is based on time being relative, or so I've read, so it may not even have to do with anything based on my theory using absolute time. Anyway, I'm not very good when it comes to science, could anybody tell me if this theory has potential, or if science like my friend thinks eliminates it from being plausible. If anyone could help expand on this theory, I would appreciate it as well.

So if she falls asleep at 2, she'll sleep until about 8am, wake up, eat, get a diaper change, and fall right back asleep until maybe 4 hours later, and wake up, eat, diaper change, and back to sleep and continue that for about 12 hours, so she doesn't wake up for good until around 3 in the afternoon, therefor her naps don't start until about 6, then another about 9, (give or take) We try to bathe her around 9 depending on what time she's napping, how can I get her on an earlier schedule? I don't want her to be real cranky from us having her stay awake longer, but if we have her get up earlier and go to bed earlier she'll probably have to wake for a feeding, like if we try to get her to go down at like 8-9 for the night she would probably wake up about 3 am because that's been 7 hours..... I don't know, any advise would be great, please! Thanks in advance!

Meade ETX80 "Proc. trap2 error"?

Hmmm, ..., something has gone wrong with the firmware in the ETX autostar controller. More than likely it's memory was erased due to a "low power" issue or other corruption. As I understand it, you cannot fix this problem on your own. You need to go a head and call the Meade Support line.

Well, ..., the RA lock should be 'hand' tight and the DEC Lock should be finger tight. Neither of them should be "Torqued" down. Each should be snug enough to lock the individual component but easy enough to loosen with a slight twist.

1.0TB Hard Drive Drive Letter?

I have a 1.0TB Hard drive as a secondary drive to store videos from my surveillance system. It is stored under drive letter S:\. I go to "Create and format hard drive partitions" under "control panel". Then i go to "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Then "Add". Then change it to drive letter S:\. Everything will go fine until I turn off my computer then when i reboot, the 1.0TB hard drive will not have a drive letter and I have to repeat the process over and over. Both drives are healthy. Both also say active, primary partitions. My C:\ drive also says system, boot, etc. My motherboard and OS (windows 7 32-bit) support the 1.0 TB hard drive. I need to get the hard drive to keep its Drive Letter, even after reboot. I can see the hard drive on "My Computer" and then when it reboots its gone again. I have tried assigning it to different drive letters so that is not the problem. Under the BIOS i was able to set up the drive with no problem and the drive shows up every time whenever i try assigning it to a letter. Any suggestions will help

Email problems on Mac AND iPhone. Help!?

I have an AOL account and its my primary email in Mail on my Mac and iPhone. Yesterday, on my mac it began having problems and saying it could not connect to the server or some crap. This morning, It began saying my password was rejected. I confirmed this was not the case by logging in on aol.com. I decided to try and change my password to see if that would help, it did not. And now my iphone will not connect to mail. I already went into settings and changed the password to the new one. I keeps saying my password is incorrect. I've done countless reboots, quits, etc. nothing is working. Anyone know the solution?

Ubuntu 11.04 question?

Well, I ate a pie, this happens alot, but is not exactly a "Problem". What I would do is take the files off of your third partition and put them on either your user folder on Windows or your home folder on Ubuntu. After doing that, delete the third partition. Why do you have a third one? Any ways... Do that and if your Windows partition is also being unmounted from Ubuntu, try uninstalling it (Be very careful how you do it, though.) and putting it back on using Wubi. This will put your Windows folder in a folder named "host" and your third will probably be in "media".

My Kindle 2 screen is really messed up, how do I fix it?

I had a Kindle for about 6 months and then randomly the upper right screen become like frozen with the screen saver image on it when I would wake it up and there was a bunch of distortion and weird lines. So I figured I'd dropped it or accidentally hit it or something. Called Amazon, got a new one, no big deal. Now I've had this one (still a Kindle 2) for only a few weeks and it's doing the EXACT same thing. I've taken great care of it, so what is going on!? I've tried holding the switch over for 20 seconds to reboot it, and something happened but I couldn't tell what because the screen is so messed up, and my Kindle is still on anyways. Should i get a barlow lens?

I'm not very well read on lengths of telescope eyepieces etc. But I found that, with the Barlow lens addition I was given with my telescope, the image was not clear / sharp. It just gets very blurry and incredibly hard to focus.

Use of telescope in cold weather?

I have a Meade ETX-80 AT TC telescope, great scope no doubt. Well my problem now is that I live in Minnesota, where the weather is outrageous during winter. When I bring my scope outside in about 15-30 degrees Fahrenheit, after a few minuets the scope freezes, tracks/slews really slow, hand-box scrolls text slowly, sounds horrible ETC. Basically it does freeze, grease on gears probably hardens. Anyway is this common with better scopes because I think its the grease being used I think it is real cheap (china) grease which Hardens at the temps I use it at during winter. Is this the problem, can I get better grease for it to solve its freezing problem? I do have a plan to shape a heating coil blanket around the base and another for the hand-box but if all I need is better grease, that would make things more simpler. Please help, Thanks, Tom.

About mounting DSLRs to telescopes...?

I would like to mount my Sony NEX-3 to a Meade 60mm (700mm focal) long-tube refractor. Essentially, I already have this, it cost me a great deal, and I'd rather not triple it by putting out $1100 for a 200-500mm lens and NEX adaptor to use for astrophotography when I have a perfectly good telescope lying about. So apparently telescopes have what's called a t-mount? And it would appear as if I have to adapt the NEX to this t-mount somehow. Anyone know of something to do this with, or could point me to a product site?

What CCD camera should I buy for my astronomy project?

My colleges have used Apogee or Finger Lakes CCDs, both of which work well with MaximDL. But I'm not sure if you can get one for that low of a price from them; if you can find one in that range, you might have to go for it. I haven't used the Meade one. Not sure what kind of telescope you're attaching this to, but the filter wheel is typically part of the telescope itself.

Diet pills, bad idea or good?

I am 20 years of age, 5ft tall. I work-out almost everyday (Insanity, running, and weights). I diet so well (chicken salads, eggs, and fruit), however, I usually drink liquor drinks on the weekend but I still do not break for junk food. I will maybe lose up to 4 Ibs when I am on a strict schedule but struggle to go beyond it. I feel that the hard work is not even worth it but I want to get to my goal. If I take a diet pill such as Oxylite or Solo slim until I lose the desired weight and then quit, can I keep it off? I know diet pills can change your heart rate, therefor messing with the metabolism so will I be able to keep my diet pill body with a work out schedule and decent diet after? Ok your going to have to restore, hold the home and the sleep button for 10 secs, while still holding the home button release the sleep button, keep holding the home button until you see a picture of the iPods USB cable plugging into the iTunes logo, plug in your ipod to the computer, on iTunes you should see a message popup that says something like "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode and it needs to be restored". Just follow the steps that iTunes gives you and your iPod should be working fine again!!
