Will i have any say in where im stationed?

Do you get to see your family alot while in the army or have any say in the post i get after AIT?? Im aware that the airforce has the "wish list" do the army have the same thing? My job is 42A and i think that they have that job at almost every post... so basically the gist of this question is how often will i get to see my family and will i have any say in where i will be stationed hopefully fort meade or aberdeen proving ground
