Is the meade ds-2114at a decent telescope?

I agree with Geoff. I cannot recommend this scope, which substitutes all sorts of gadgets for its lack of basic quality and common sense telescope design. It has a shaky mount, terrible optics (tough to do on such a small scope, but they managed it here), and a less-than-stellar reputation. I would keep looking, perhaps for a Dobsonian configuration with more aperture and less electronics. That way, you can actually see something once you are aimed at it.
